About the Course
In this 3-day, hands-on, in-depth class, students will learn best practices for installation of a furnace and A/C. They will gain confidence in their installation and startup/commissioning skills. Students will tear down an operating system in our controlled lab environment, install a completely new furnace and A/C & do proper startup/commissioning.
Topics covered:
Installation safety best practices.
Customer considerations during a change-out.
Proper recovery, pump-down, and evacuation practices.
Proper ducting prep and installation practices.
Gas, vent, condensate best practices.
Electrical connections & polarity, t-stat installation & setup.
Refrigerant lines best practices, including brazing and press.
Slope/leveling of equipment, how and why.
Startup and commissioning best practices.
Cleanup and follow-up, warranty considerations.
Very involved instructor, 5-1 student to instructor ratio.
$650 install tool kit included: multimeter, hand tools, and dual port manometer.
