Refrigeration Tech Fundamentals

$1,500/Week Per Student

2 Consecutive Weeks

Week 1: Refrigeration Electrical

Students will begin with the fundamentals of electricity and electrical theory. Instruction will then transition into hands-on lab training, where students will wire various electrical circuits and components. The course will also introduce electrical troubleshooting procedures, with a strong emphasis on proper order of operations and diagnostic best practices.

Week 1 & 2: Refrigeration Fundamentals

Students will learn the basic principles of the refrigeration cycle and gain an understanding of refrigeration system components and operation.

Then, students will advance into refrigeration system troubleshooting, maintenance procedures, and service best practices. Hands-on lab training will focus heavily on troubleshooting techniques for high-, medium-, and low-temperature refrigeration systems.

Additional training topics include:

  • Ice machine service and troubleshooting

  • Brazing techniques

  • Refrigerant recovery procedures

  • System evacuation procedures

  • Pump-down procedures

All topics will include practical, hands-on lab applications with an emphasis on proper service and troubleshooting methods.

Refrigeration Electrical

$1,075 Per Student

8 Hour Class

Refrigeration Electrical & Fundamentals — Covers electrical theory, hands-on circuit wiring, troubleshooting, refrigeration cycle fundamentals, system maintenance, and best practices for brazing, recovery, evacuation, and pump downs.

A/C & Refrigeration, Leak Check/Repair Best Practices

$185 Per Student

4 Hour Class

Refrigerant leak detection and repair, including best practices for evacuation, recovery, and brazing.

Basic Commercial Refrigeration

$185 Per Student

8 Hour Class

Hands-on classroom and lab training covering electrical theory, wiring diagrams, order of operations, refrigeration system fundamentals, defrost systems, and controls.

Commercial Ice Makers 101

$185 Per Student

4 Hours

Introduction to ice making, including refrigeration cycle and ice maker components, system operation, service and maintenance, water quality considerations, installation best practices, and hands-on training with supporting theory and practical exercises.

Introduction to Hydrocarbon (HC) Refrigerants

$185 Per Student

4 Hours

Introduction to Hydrocarbon (HC) refrigerants, including R290 and R600a, with a focus on flammable refrigerant safety, applicable codes and standards, industry best practices for service and repair, and proper handling procedures. An A3 refrigerant certification test may also be available.
